The city of Ramat Gan plans to relocate the current safari to Ariel Sharon Park, facilitating the construction of 10,000 residential units on the vacated site. The project, backed by a 500 million shekel investment, will be funded by selling the current land to developers. However, the Israel Land Authority (ILA), the landowner, has not yet approved the agreement. The safari will remain under Ramat Gan's management even after relocation. The new site will not increase the safari's size but aims to improve conditions for the animals. Additionally, the adjacent national park will expand by several hundred dunams. A new road link to Highway 4 is also planned to alleviate traffic congestion. Despite concerns about losing public spaces, the city hopes the project will generate revenue through new commercial and residential areas.
