Tax Investigation on Fraudulent Real Estate Declarations in Nazareth

The Israeli Tax Authority is currently investigating six individuals suspected of making false declarations to the land taxation offices in Nazareth, thereby evading taxes totaling over 2.2 million shekels. The investigation, led by the Haifa and Northern Tax Investigation Office, reveals that four brothers from the Khalil family allegedly falsely declared the sale of their apartments, avoiding over 1.8 million shekels in capital gains tax. Two brothers from the Kahili family, the buyers, are also suspected of making false declarations during the purchase, evading approximately 400,000 shekels in purchase tax. The investigation found that the building sold actually contained eight apartments instead of the four declared, with a total value of 11 million shekels. The suspects have been released under restrictive conditions, and the investigation is ongoing.
